I've been thinking a lot about your wedding and what I wanted to do to make it special and I kept thinking about this blog we made, but never used. So then I thought, why not make this part of her wedding gift!? So here it is. This little blog we made months ago is now my gift to you.
Stay, you got engaged today! And I feel so blessed to have been there to see you so completely happy. I read this quote today that I love-love-loved! It said "When you have all that you need, build a longer table, not a higher fence." It made me think about my life and how this is a big lesson I've learned. Your friendship was all I needed for a long time. It was just you and me. We did everything together. We traveled and made our very own adventures, just you and I, and there is truly no one in this world that is a better best friend fit for me than you. And for a long time I really truly thought that you were all I needed. But then I did realize at some point that you do need to build a longer table, not a higher fence. I tried for a time to build my fence up really high because I just wanted to keep our lives the same. But figuring out to build a longer table has been the biggest blessing. And it was a HARD thing to learn to do. But Alec now sits at this table, and one day there will so many more people sitting there with us. But I'm glad for all of the things me + you were able to do. A lot of my joy comes from you. So, happy engagement Stay, this is the most exciting time and I'm glad to be by your side through it all.
